Phayao Northen Lake Hotel

The parking lot is large and convenient, and the location is good. The hotel could have been decent given its basic qualities, but the maintenance is so poor that I won't stay here again, even at the low price. It isn't worth the hassle. A shame, because it could be a good hotel if things were looked after. Find somewhere else. The bed bugs were what made up my mind. My legs were badly bitten in large patches under the blanket. The blanket wasn't great either, and the mattress was worn out. The floor was stained, smelly, and not cleaned properly. The bathroom was dirty too, with grime across the floor and other spots, and the toilet bowl was in bad shape. The shower ran, but there was no hot water. After several minutes it only got lukewarm. Maybe that would improve with more guests, but there were just two guests during my stay. Most things in the room worked, but made noise, so getting decent sleep was impossible. It's an old business hotel that's long past its good years, with everything run down and poorly maintained. The place has some decent fundamentals, but the details make it impossible to choose for a night.

It was just okay for the money. The room itself was fine, but the toilet bowl was badly stained. I also would have liked some shower soap.

There's plenty of greenery around this lovely spot, though a lot of it is still old and they're now renovating everything. The owner is very open minded and creative, and welcomes every idea. We're glad we found it for our first Test Hive and "Bee 🐝 Camper 2 go" Phayao. You can rent solar powered camper trikes and meet people, or just relax in the hive behind the hotel!

A little tired-looking, but clean and well priced.
