Monkey Cottage

The owners were excellent hosts, and even upgraded us for free to a bigger bungalow that suited our needs really well. It had a separate kitchen, which came in handy. Breakfast arrived at the bungalow around 8am, with a tasty variety of food. The pool is small, but the kids still had a great time in it. The resort works well for keen walkers: it's 15-20 minutes on foot to the small market and 7-11, then another five minutes to three brilliant coffee shops. In my opinion, the city is more like a town, about a 40-50 minute walk away, with shops, cafes, banks, eateries, and public amenities. We enjoyed our first nine nights so much that we booked another five, and the owner gave us a very reasonable rate. When we left, they generously sent us off with extra food for the journey. Many thanks! My one suggestion is to get some large or tall glasses for beer. 😉

The staff were lovely and helpful, and breakfast was really good. This is a brand-new place, opened in August 2024. We stayed in the large unit, which had a kitchenette with a microwave, Dolce Gusto coffee machine, and water cooker. There were card and board games to play, plus a big seating area. The unit had a double bed and an extra futon for one person, and a very large fridge that we used for ice cubes and keeping our drinks cold. The shower was spacious, though the water only got warm, not hot, for a quick shower when the tap was half open. A couple of suggestions: regular drinking glasses in the cottage would be nice. We only had cardboard cups for coffee, with no glasses for other drinks. Also, we booked mainly so our daughter could enjoy the pool. We checked in at 2pm, but a sign in the cottage said it was open 7-10am, noon-2pm, and 5-7pm. We waited three hours, and by then the sun was nearly gone and the water was too cold, unfortunately. It might be nicer if the pool were open during the hot part of the day. We hope to come back. Thanks for having us.

There isn't a restaurant, but the resort was really nice and everything was perfect!

The tiny house is adorable, and the service was excellent. I stayed for three days and they really spoiled me. Kap kun kaa!
