I hope I never have to sleep in a room like that again, whatever the price. We were traveling around Nakhon Ratchasima on 30 December, and the trip took longer than expected, so we stopped at a hotel instead of heading home. With most places booked for New Year, we ended up here around 23.00. The room was quiet, and at least the AC worked well, but it smelled musty and the floor was muddy and dirty. I didn't want to take my shoes off because I had no idea what might get on my feet. The AC gradually helped with the smell. The bathroom was shockingly dirty and unkempt, and I really didn't want to shower there. The bed looked okay, but given the state of the room, I couldn't tell whether the sheets had been changed since the last guest. My girlfriend and I talked about asking for a refund and going elsewhere, but she thought there'd be no rooms left and nowhere else to find so late. I seriously considered sleeping in the car, which would have been cleaner but far too hot, so I stayed and slept fully dressed on top of the bed. A cupboard was literally held together with string. I photographed it, the shower, and a broken light near the TV. I did eventually use the shower very carefully, spraying down the floor first. The next morning I was amazed to see a cleaning lady in the corridor. I'd assumed the hotel didn't have one. The only word I can think of for my room is “grotty.” Dave Stead, England.

Five stars for the value, at 350 baht a night. The place is tired, but clean, and the showers are good. My two friends said their beds were okay, though we checked several rooms and some mattresses looked collapsed. I put an air bed on top, so I can't speak to my own mattress. I'd check the room you choose before paying. Breakfast was toast with marmalade, plus coffee or tea, and it was included. It was set out in reception, where seating was very limited. That was fine while we were the only ones eating, but if it's busy, you might have to take breakfast back to your room. At least reception had a kettle, so you could make a hot drink with your own supplies, since there was nothing provided in the room.

The location is really close to the bus terminal, and staff will help if you need assistance. There isn't a 7/11 nearby, but the hotel staff can help place an online order through their 7/11. Breakfast is just coffee and bread. I felt safe and slept well, which is what matters to me. Phetchabun doesn't feel like a tourist place to me, with no foreigners except teachers, but the scenery, views, and mountains are amazing. The room wasn't bad at all, as long as there are no cockroaches. 🪳

The staff were kind and very helpful. I enjoyed the roomy space and the balcony, which had a table and chair and worked perfectly for getting some work done.

It was a bit mouldy, but the sheets and bed were clean and the AC worked. It cost 350. We brought our bicycles into the room.
