Baan K Residence

I checked out early after deciding I couldn’t stay. The room was huge and impressive, with a separate lounge, a little kitchen, and a large fridge. The receptionist who welcomed me was cheerful and professional, but when I later went down to ask about the noise, I found the receptionist asleep with his head on the desk. I’d been kept awake by heavy traffic, which is somewhat expected in Bangkok but still uncomfortable, and then noticed a very noisy construction site below my balcony. Nobody had told me about that before booking, and I probably wouldn’t have reserved the room if I’d known. When I checked out, the receptionist, who seemed awake by then, didn’t ask why I was leaving and just asked me to wait while the room was checked. I handed over the key and access card and left. I’d prepaid and don’t expect a refund, but I do expect a business to be honest and its staff not to sleep on the job and to communicate properly with guests.

The room was much larger than the one I booked and came with a washing machine on the balcony. It was on the low third floor, though, facing mostly a neighboring house, so there wasn’t much privacy. There’s a lot to like for the money: good housekeeping, strong hot water, four pillows, cool aircon, and a location between the new malls, One Bangkok and Central Park. Shelly House cafe and NorthEast restaurant are right beside it. The bed is a bit hard, which may suit people with back issues. On the downside, the lock still uses a key, the bathroom tap is awkward, and the old aircon is a little noisy. My phone’s 5G was faster than the hotel Wi-Fi.

The hotel is old and the furniture isn’t new, but the apartments are spacious, clean, cozy, and comfortable, with room to cook. The location is really good too. A nice place for a few days, thank you so much 💫

The room was spacious and had what we needed, including a balcony, small kitchen area, and bathroom with separate toilet and shower sections. Some furniture is a little old, though you can see they’ve tried to renovate. There’s a 711 about a 3-minute walk away, and Lumphini Station and the new One Bangkok shopping mall are both walkable. We got to check in at 1PM, an hour before the official 2PM time, and the process was smooth. The lobby looked nicely decorated and quite new. I’d worried the hotel might not be real because I couldn’t find contact details on social media like ws, FB & IG, just a local number I didn’t try. After reading recent reviews on Google and hotel booking sites, I decided to give it a go. Great value for money, and I highly recommend this kind of residence.
