Park Village Rama II Serviced Suites & Residence

We had booked four nights, but left after just one, even though we'd paid for the full stay. The manager refused to refund us, but we moved elsewhere anyway for our comfort and the rest of our group. The booking-site photos and ratings are completely misleading. This is not a 4-star hotel, and what we got wasn't worth even a quarter of what I paid. The room looked sad and depressing, with a view of nothing but the dirty alley between the “hotel/accommodation” and the hospital. The mattress was old-fashioned, extremely hard, and springy enough to make the whole bed shake with even a small movement. Bathroom lights barely worked, cleaning was only okay, the shower heads were filthy, and the water pressure was low. Parts of the building had no working A/C. You'd come in from 40°C streets to a 20°C lobby, then step out of the elevator and into a floor at a burning 40°C. The hotel is right beside a hospital and faces a strange market.

A great choice if you want to slow down, relax, and shop in Bangkok. I loved the breakfast, pool, and gym. The rooms are large and clean, and having a kitchen in mine was really useful. The city view is lovely and relaxing too. It's a little far from central Bangkok, so I wouldn't recommend it if sightseeing in the center is your main plan. For relaxing, though, it's perfect.

The staff were helpful and friendly, always greeting me with a smile, and the free parking was another plus. The hotel is also close to a shopping mall and surrounded by plenty of tasty local food. (Pizza is the best.) I paid around 2,000 baht per night, which felt very reasonable for such a comfortable, spacious room. A clean, convenient place to stay, and I'd highly recommend it.

The rooms were clean, and housekeeping did a great job. Staff were friendly and courteous. There are plenty of transport options, and the market across the road has great food.
