The station is under 100 metres away, and MBK is right across the road, with plenty of cafes nearby. The room was a good size and the shower and other appliances worked well. The beds felt quite hard for my family, though I personally like a firm bed.

There are two buildings here, and I found Building B quieter and more comfortable, with the pool closer by than from Building A. The condo is near a shopping center and has a lovely little garden as well as a swimming pool.

The location is the big draw: it’s about a two-minute walk to National Stadium BTS, with Siam and MBK nearby and a bus stop across the street. That makes getting around the city much easier than dealing with Bangkok traffic. The condo itself is attractive and comparatively new, though the buildings are around 10 years old now. There’s a small fitness area with treadmills and stationary bikes, plus a small pool that sometimes needs cleaning. When it’s clean, it’s a nice place for a cooling dip in the afternoon heat and humidity. Water pressure is a real problem. At some times of day it’s barely more than a trickle, so washing dishes or filling the sink takes a long time. People staying in different rooms have mentioned the same issue. Maintenance is slow, and parts of the infrastructure are run down. The poolside walkway has been damaged for over two years, with a safety cone put there instead of repairs. Lights in the shared areas are often out, and the lobby has lost much of its library feel as management has added marketing desks and mobile phone kiosks. Parking is scarce, so guests often end up in the driveway rather than the garage. The doorways all have steps, with no ramps, making it awkward to roll suitcases around. Owners are also discouraged from renting their units through AirBNB and similar services. There are signs claiming it’s against the Law, but when I asked which law, they couldn’t say exactly what the signs were based on. Those frustrations are easier to put up with because of the location.

Right in central Bangkok, but tucked on a quiet street with lots of greenery. One of the best places I’ve stayed in the city.
