The location made getting around easy, Khao Wang is a 15-minute walk and Kao Luang cave is about 10 minutes by Grab. What stood out most was the owner, who knows the town where he was born and shared that knowledge along with excellent, personal service throughout my week there. This family-run hotel was the best week of my Thailand trip. It has an old-fashioned charm you don't find much anymore, from Phetchaburi's golden years. It's not the Hilton, though Thailand has those in some cities. The owner also speaks English, which isn't something you can take for granted in Thailand. Thanks to him for making my stay in Phetchaburi memorable.

I got the cheapest of the different room options. I don't think the hotel has changed since Rama 9 stayed there, though I mean the hotel itself, not my room :). There's a photo of Him downstairs showing the spot where He sat. The ground floor also has a bar and lots of tables where you can relax, work, or meet, and they're free to use. For what I paid, it was a good deal. I'd give it four stars if the furniture hadn't been dusty.

I was very impressed with the outstanding service and will definitely stay with them again. The rooms are small, but they're clean and lovely. The mountain scenery is stunning, with plenty of beautiful views just outside the window.
