Royal Diamond Hotel

The room looked impressive when I first opened the door, and the furniture was good quality. The linen was spotless, and I slept really well and felt comfortable. The staff were professional and friendly, and the downstairs reception area looks great. But the room was so dirty that it’s hard to rate the place. The bathroom door, walls, and tiles were grimy. They’d been cleaned only as high as a short person could reach, while everything above that was filthy. The room walls had been washed at lower levels but were grotty higher up, and they seriously need painting. I wasn’t allowed to bring my bike into the room, even though there was an elevator and plenty of space. That’s happened at very few places.

This was my family’s second visit. We arrived around midday for lunch, but the place was packed and people from a large reserved group were shouting. I got only a plate with a few items to try before they ran out of food. I asked several times, but nothing came from the kitchen. Eventually I spoke to the woman at the front desk; she was helpful, and then some staff finally started taking it seriously. By then, my family and I decided to leave. I didn’t expect much from a 219 THB buffet, but this was worse than I could have imagined. I don’t recommend it at all.

It’s a decent option for a short business visit to Petchaburi, and it functions well enough. The room was just okay and clean enough. Breakfast is included in the room price.

Friendly staff, a good breakfast, and clean rooms at a good value. The Royal Palace and restaurants are nearby, though the hotel is on the edge of town, about 2 km from the centre. The minivan bus station is close, around 600 m away.
