Phimai Paradise Hotel

We had a pleasant stay in a clean, nice place, and the staff were good. Check-in was quick, and the reception area had a cooler with drinks and microwave meals. The car park is inside the building. Our two-bed room was clean throughout, with a handy little bathroom and everything provided for a shower. Wifi was good, and there was a flatscreen. The night market is only minutes away, as is "The Clock," a pub that seemed popular with foreigners. There are food places nearby, and we tried a Thai BBQ. Across from the hotel, we found a restaurant-bar with live music and had a few last drinks. In the morning they offer a small breakfast of rice soup, which we liked since we eat that at home too. For what we paid, we’d give it five stars.

The pool was out of use, and the TVs got no reception. The place felt pretty soulless and the stay was overpriced at 26 aud for one person. Breakfast was warm rice porridge. The aircon worked well, but the shower water wasn’t very warm. When I arrived, none of the TVs worked. I asked to change rooms, but the TV in the other one didn’t work either. One receptionist in particular was very rude. As I was leaving, she said they needed to check the room. I said, okay, you can leave now, what did she expect me to do to the room? I’ll share some pictures of the bathroom and what the drinking glass had been sitting rim-down on. That was after I’d washed them.

I’m extremely unhappy with this hotel. They double-booked us and asked for extra payment, and it has happened twice already. Nobody helped us; instead, they blamed us. The noise was so bad we couldn’t rest. The service was poor, and the staff were rude and unacceptable in how they treated customers. I’d never go back or waste my money there. 😠😠

In the superior room there’s a kettle, but I later found out the coffee sticks cost extra. The shower fittings were rusty and badly installed. The curtain is so thin that bright light fills the room at 6:30 am, making it very hard to sleep after that. They wouldn’t take the credit card saved in Agoda and wanted cash at the hotel, yet kept sending me messages asking for card details to hold the room. Their system failed and bothered me a lot. I’m not comfortable giving a small hotel my card number, expiry date, and CVV. They should let people pay by credit card when booking through Agoda.
