The staff were lovely, and the owner showed me some of the local whiskey they sell. I stopped in for breakfast this morning and had a really nice meal at a fair price, with very good coffee. It’s an interesting spot. I’ve visited Phrae a couple of times and somehow hadn’t found it before. I’ll be back to eat and have coffee, and maybe try the whiskey next time. I didn’t stay in the rooms, so can’t comment on them, but might consider that on a future visit.

I came by in the late afternoon hoping for a cool drink, but they only offered cocktails and mocktails. I was told they had no soda or fruit juice. Maybe I used the wrong entrance, but is that really all they serve at 5pm?

By lunchtime they’d already run out of several key ingredients. The food was presented nicely, though it tasted pretty average. Nothing to wow you, but nothing terrible either. This corner cafe is cute, the service was very friendly, and the prices seemed fair. They also sell homemade spirits, which were interesting. It was fine for breakfast, but probably not enough to bring me back, even though I’d still like to try the yogurt sometime. Maybe I will.
