If you want your Phrae trip to feel like a nightmare, this place may do the job. The tin roof rattled all night like something in a horror movie, and guests have to lock the door at 10 p.m. The host sang downstairs overnight and wandered around the shared space outside the rooms. I felt trapped while they could move about freely. The facilities and location were awful, and the price was much higher than nearby places that were sunny, safe, and clean. There are plenty of nicer places in this city, so if you find this one, spend another 30 seconds searching. It isn’t even a traditional wooden house, just a humble, low-class place to stay. I hope nobody else accidentally ends up having a frightening trip like mine.

It’s close to the old town, where you’ll find the market and entertainment. The homestay is wooden, with a few very clean rooms. The two bathrooms are shared.

The wooden floors creak when you walk across them, and the towels leave lint behind.
