The internet was easily the worst I’ve dealt with in 20 years. The Wi-Fi signal looked strong, but the bandwidth was awful and I kept getting disconnected. A 10-minute YouTube video could take an hour to watch, and doing anything online was nearly impossible, like being back on a 56kb connection. Absolutely unacceptable. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. The bathroom was another big problem. The sink drain seemed blocked, and the shower on the top floor kept cycling between strong pressure and a trickle, almost stopping, then surging again every 10 seconds. The temperature swung from very hot spray to warm water to a cool trickle and back to very hot, which made showering uncomfortable. The shower cabin leaked, leaving the floor wet all the time. That fluctuating pressure also made the “butt cleaner” hose unpleasant, as you can imagine. The room itself was fine and had what I needed, but the mattress was incredibly hard, almost like lying on a yoga mat on the floor. I usually prefer a firm bed, so that’s saying something.

Breakfast was good, with a few Thai and Western choices, and the hotel is very good value. The reception team were friendly and helpful. My room was spacious and spotless, cleaned by helpful staff, and even the sheets were changed every day.

The room looked just like the picture and was fine, though that mattress was unbelievably hard. It wasn’t thin, just hard, and I’ve never had one like it before. They’ve renovated some areas but left the bathroom, which needs repairs. The walking street is close enough to reach on foot in about 10 minutes. At 650B per room in high season, it’s acceptable for the price.

Breakfast was a bit spoiled by there being no butter for the toast and only tiny coffee cups. Still, the hotel was quiet, and the bed was comfortable for a reasonable price.
