Karon Princess Hotel

The pool was always refreshing, and the rooms were cleaned daily. Staff were warm, helpful, and gave us great hospitality. Breakfast could be a little better, but otherwise it’s a great place.

The buffet breakfast was pretty standard, though the local fruit was delicious and a couple of the Thai dishes were cooked decently. There’s a small night market right next door with lots of food choices, and most local stalls and shops are about a 20-minute walk away. Room service kept my room clean and stocked each day. I stayed for a week and had no real complaints. The room was in good shape, with no bugs or other unwanted visitors, and the air conditioning worked really well. The shower cabin was the one thing that had seen better days. Tap water seemed okay, but I didn’t drink it. There weren’t any power outlets by the bed, so bring an extension cord. The hotel is on the beachfront, but its two buildings stretch quite far back. Even a “beach view” room might not actually face the beach because of the building’s orientation. I booked without a beach view in the second building, farther from the shore, and the walk from my room still took no more than five minutes.

The room was good and close to the beach, and the pool was nice. Sadly, there are no bidets. They really should add one of those sprayers for washing your bum with water.

The room was spacious and clean, and it’s right on the beachfront, though there was no view. There’s no gym, and the mattress was really hard, bumpy, and uncomfortable. They charged me 100bht for two bottles of plain water, not sparkling, and there was no refill. I consider that stealing. It’s not okay, and I wouldn’t return after losing 100bht over water bottles. Think about that the next time you take 100bht for water, you thieves.
