Kata Silver Sand Hotel by Eazy

The rooms are very average for 8K, and the pool is tiny. The hotel is on Kata main road, but the rooms are spread vertically, so there’s a lot of walking. Breakfast was average and staff didn’t answer calls. If you have no other option, you could book here, but otherwise I’d skip it.

Could’ve been a lovely place, but the room problems let it down. Our first room had no balcony door, the second had a leaking air conditioner, and the WiFi didn’t work in the third.

The WiFi was poor and breakfast just okay. At first I was put off by the really hard mattress and an unpleasant smell around the place. I asked the staff for a soft topper, and that made the bed much more comfortable. The smell was gone the next day, so it turned out alright after all, especially given the good price for this area.

We planned on two nights, then stayed for another 12. The room had plenty of storage, a medium-sized fridge, tea facilities, a safe, a hair dryer, and a big bathroom with good shower pressure. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and the air conditioner cooled things down in minutes. Housekeeping came daily and topped up the toilet paper and bottled water. We felt safe enough that we didn’t need to lock away our valuables. I really liked that we had the pool to ourselves and could swim laps. Coffee shops, bars, the beach, markets, and restaurants were all walkable. The staff were polite and friendly, and I was allowed to check out at 3pm without an extra charge. The smart TV was handy for Netflix on rainy days. We’d stay here again if we’re back in Kata Beach.
