The Base Heights by Lofty

Check-in went smoothly, though checking out was awkward. Nobody was at the shop to return our 500 bats deposit. The money was eventually sent to us, but it was a shame for the stay to end that way. It’s a very nice, safe apartment complex with two pools and a gym, and it’s about a 30-minute walk to the old town of Phuket. The bed was VERY soft, so keep that in mind if you don’t like soft beds. There were no sunlounges by the pool like in the pictures, and the airbnb host didn’t reply when we asked about them. There was no daily cleaning or towel change, and we couldn’t find any amenities in the room.

The room was a decent size, and the property was good. There are cafes nearby, and self check-in was available. The washrooms weren’t very clean because of the water draining, though.

The main issue was the glass wall between the bedroom and the rest of the space. It made the room hard to use when someone was trying to sleep. Otherwise, the building is fantastic, with beautiful views from the top, a decent gym, and a well-stocked kitchen. The ground-floor pool seems to stay shaded, and it has a child-safe section where my 1yo could waddle around.

Lovely classic-chino decor with a modern feel, and the rooftop pool has a stunning sunset view. The room is 35 sqm, suitable for only 1-2 people. It’s in a great spot for Phuket city, near a hospital, 7-11, malls, restaurants, and bike parking. There isn’t enough car parking.
