Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas

Our villa was immaculate and comfortable, and the pools and beach were peaceful and picturesque. The restaurants served delicious food in lovely settings, sometimes with entertainment. Everyone on staff was friendly, polite and accommodating. Sunny, our concierge, was the best. He arranged and booked whatever dining or activities we wanted, so we could properly relax. My elderly mother was with us, and the team was especially attentive and accommodating. A fabulous getaway.

The pool villa and services were very good. Breakfast was a letdown, with limited choice, and the room got crowded and stuffy at rush hour. SEA FIRE SALT at the beach restaurant exceeded my expectations, though. I'd recommend the oyster and grilled platter. The hotel shares the beach with Marriott and JW Marriott. I used to live in JW years ago, so being back on that beach gave me déjà vu, hehehe.

We spent a week here in January 2026 for our honeymoon, and every staff member we met was kind, welcoming and friendly. The grounds and gardens felt like a dream, the beach was beautiful and not very busy, and our villa's private pool felt like a sanctuary. Breakfast was excellent quality, and I especially liked trying the local and regional dishes. The food was delicious overall, except at Sea Fire Salt. We found it outrageously expensive for the food and service we got, and I wouldn't recommend it. The spa felt like paradise both times we went, probably one of the nicest I've visited, with some of the best therapists. We also really enjoyed a private Muay Thai session. The gym was well maintained, very new-looking and clean. We didn't know about the Friday beach BBQ, and by the time we asked the day before, it was fully booked. If we'd been told at check-in or before our stay, we could have booked ahead.

We spent nearly all our time at the resort and never went into the main towns, and don't regret it. You could stay here for days without getting bored. Northern Phuket felt peaceful, with lots of space and what was basically a private beach. The place looked like a movie set, and they kept it that way throughout our stay. There were thoughtful little details everywhere. We came with our five-month-old on her first trip and had no stress at all. The staff took care of whatever we needed. The treehouse restaurant team gave some of the best service I've had anywhere. They also arranged a birthday surprise for my wife that clearly had a lot of thought behind it. I was a complete beginner at Muay Thai, and instructor Arm was patient, fun and never judgmental. One lovely surprise was an Anantara staff member waiting for us at the airport and staying with us all the way through check-in. We really appreciated it. Thanks again!
