Bandara Phuket Beach Resort

We paid 15,668 THB for two nights in a Standard Room, which felt completely unjustified for the condition of the hotel and the experience. I think it is worth no more than 40-50% of its current price, especially compared with other Phuket hotels offering much better cleanliness, service, and facilities. The hotel did give us a complimentary drink and dinner at check-in, which I appreciated, but that didn't make up for everything else. The property is small and clearly old. Rooms, bedrooms, and bathrooms are cramped and narrow, so it wasn't relaxing. The hotel also overstates the sea view and level of luxury. Most views are of old houses and rooftops, not appealing for photos or what you'd expect from a beachfront resort. The beach is dirty and full of seaweed, and the small seating area had very few places available even in the afternoon, outside the busy morning and sunbathing hours. At the ground-floor beachfront restaurant or café, sitting in the first or second row requires spending 1,500 to 2,000 THB. That felt unreasonable and inconvenient for hotel guests. There was no bellboy at the entrance when we arrived, though a staff member helped with our luggage after we asked reception. The welcome and preparedness were far below what I've experienced at other Phuket hotels. Other problems: the air-conditioning unit sits on the small balcony close to the chair, making it almost unusable; the elevator smelled bad; I saw spiders on the property; the old electrical outlets didn't fit the claimed luxury standard; and the room door needed a lot of force to close. I wouldn't recommend the hotel, given its shortfall on luxury, views, cleanliness, service, and value, especially with much better options at similar or lower prices in Phuket.

We were two adults with a small child and enjoyed the stay. The rooftop saltwater pool was excellent, with a superb bay and sea view three storeys up. It was shallow and never very busy. Breakfast wasn't great, and the scrambled eggs could have been prepared much better. The staff were typically Thai in their eagerness to serve and were really kind. We liked it and would come again. Thanks for the hospitality.

The rooms were spacious and clean, and the hotel looks nice. The surroundings are very quiet, which could be good if you want to relax, but we were glad to stay only three nights. A street-facing room can be noisy, with motorbikes and cars going past often and loud engines. Bring earplugs. At the beach there are no free umbrellas, and shade is hard to find even in the morning. The pool is decent, though finding an empty sunbed can also be difficult at busy times. Our booking included an hour of free paddleboarding, but that turned into a bad experience. Staff only handed us the safety leash after we were already in the water, so we hadn't checked it first. Later we found the rope was broken. It was yellowish and worn from long use in the sea, though they said it wasn't new. We were charged 500 Baht for the damage. When we raised it at reception, they immediately offered to take payment there, which made the situation feel questionable. They said they could check again, but we ended up paying. Check all equipment carefully before using it, even when it's free. In our case the 'free' paddleboard cost us money.

We had a lovely stay. The hotel was clean and modern, with a nicely decorated lobby, spacious room that had everything we needed, a beautiful pool, and a location just a few meters from the beach. The staff were great, and breakfast had plenty of variety and delicious food. The one bad experience was with Flamingo beach club, the hotel's partner. The food wasn't good, and they surprised us with extra charges, saying it was because of 1 st of Jan. The menu and online menu showed the regular prices, and nobody had told us, not even the hotel employees.
