De Hostel

The place was quiet throughout, and I was lucky enough to have no roommates. It was clean and pleasant, too. I arrived late at night, but the host came by within minutes, welcomed me in, and explained everything clearly. We need more hostels like this.

We paid about 14 euros a night for a private room with two single beds, and the whole hostel was clean and well looked after. The owner is really nice. There’s drinking water, cups, plates, and a fridge to use, and the bathrooms are shared outside, which means no bathroom smells in the rooms. Check-in is self-service, and there’s no staff around during the day, though they provide WiFi and a number to call with questions. I do wish we’d received a message beforehand through agoda, where we booked, but it wasn’t a big enough deal to lose a star over. Would book again!

The owner is incredibly friendly, and the beds are comfortable. It’s easy to find, and you can get around the city quickly, though the city is small. We wanted to stay a few more nights, but she booked our next bus too quickly, so unfortunately we had to move on.

The bed, AC, bathroom and shower, and common room were all very good. The owner was lovely and quick to help. It does feel a little expensive for a hostel, though.
