Thur Hostel

The room has two good points: a big porch facing the sea and a nice location. But, as usual, this supposedly #1 place to stay has an inattentive, lazy attitude. There were lots of mosquitos, and the owner told me to buy spray. They advertise free water, coffee, and tea all day, but the limit is two small bottles of water. The owners have also been hosting lots of loud parties for their friends. I wouldn't recommend it to families looking for a relaxing stay.

There were loud parties at the hostel all night, with music, people chatting, and big bikes. It wasn't quiet or relaxing. Be careful about overbooking on long weekends, the management isn't good. The owner wasn't very polite to everyone. I wouldn't recommend staying if you don't plan to join the party, though if you do, you might get a chance to visit the morning market and make merit to a monk afterward.

The location is good, though the owner couldn't speak English and I had to change rooms in the middle of the day.

The quietness of this area is precious, especially from the bedroom terrace, with local fishermen's homes around it and people living alongside the mother sea, sun, and sand. A friendly smile from “Joe” the owner made us feel as if we were staying in a second home near the sea.
