The Spirit Huahin Resort

The beaches nearby were lovely and hardly crowded, and we really enjoyed the local feel of Khao Tao. We also liked being somewhere quiet outside Hua Hin while still only about 15 minutes from town. We booked at fairly short notice, and The Spirit Resort turned out to be one of our favorite stays in Thailand. Our villa felt like a lush little oasis, with an indoor-outdoor layout we absolutely loved. It was very private, but staff were on hand whenever we needed room service, cleaning, or more water. We really didn’t want to leave.

The location is very tucked away on the edge of Hua Hin. It took over 10 minutes to get a Grab or Bolt, then another 15 minutes or more to reach the nearest beach or shopping area. If you don’t have your own transport, bring snacks and drinks before settling in for the night. We loved the private villa, especially the pool and rooftop seating for taking it easy or watching the sunrise and sunset. The outlets and appliances are beginning to look dated, though the private space was still very comfortable and luxurious. The staff were kind and helpful, and the golf cart made it easy to get to reception or The Moment Cafe. The restaurant was excellent, and I’d recommend stopping in even just for a drink. Spirit Resort in the Hua Hin hills was a beautiful, peaceful place away from the city bustle. I’d happily recommend it for a relaxing getaway.

Breakfast was generous, with a main dish to choose from plus bread, fruit, coffee and even banana roti. The outdoor pool was clean and well cared for, and the whole place looked lovely, with water and mountains adding to the peaceful setting. The resort sits south of Hua Hin and a little inland, with mountains behind it. It stayed quiet throughout our visit, which made it feel right for a romantic trip or a restful break. The greenery, trees and landscaping fit together beautifully. Villas sit on different terrace levels, so we could enjoy our own pool with a sense of privacy and look toward the tree-lined horizon without being visible from the path below. Our villa was furnished with what seemed like real solid wood, and everything felt sturdy, elegant and high quality. We especially enjoyed the rooftop deck and its two loungers for stargazing on a clear night. Staff were quick to respond by call or message. We arrived late, but a golf cart was already waiting to take us from the parking area to our villa, a very welcoming start. We genuinely loved our stay at The Spirit and would definitely return. Highly recommend it for a place to relax and recharge. 10/10.

We had a wonderful time at The Spirit Hua hin. It feels like a hidden gem, with green mountain views and, from the restaurant and villas higher up the hill, a glimpse of the sea too. The rainy season must be especially beautiful there, and the surroundings felt healing for the mind and heart. It works as a retreat for couples and families, with good food and thoughtful service. We eat vegetarian, and the chef and manager understood what I needed and prepared a delicious meal accordingly. The food and room were both really good. A lovely place to visit.
