Thong Paeka Hotel

I’ve been staying here for seven years, and it’s my favourite hotel in Thailand. The rooms and beds are always very clean, the restaurant food is good and affordable, and they offer free coffee. It isn’t a new hotel, and the hot water can vary a bit, apparently because it’s solar heated, but that’s a minor issue. The staff are friendly and attentive, always make me feel at home, and are happy to help with anything. I’ll keep coming back.

The staff were friendly and polite whenever I raised an issue, but nothing was done about the ants that kept appearing throughout the room and bathroom every day. I also reported the bed problem and got no solution. Though it was a good size, it was so hard that it caused me real agony. Over five nights I slept perhaps one or two hours in total, and I’m still having problems since returning home. At 1,000 baht a day, I found the price very high. I’ve stayed at much better places for the same money. Personally, I’d never come back. After 25 years of visiting Thailand, this was the worst experience I’ve had to endure.

I booked here because everywhere near Buriram was full for the races, and the rate was incredibly cheap. The room turned out to be very clean, with cold air conditioning and a TV I didn’t use, and the staff were friendly. I ended up extending my stay for several days after the race and had an interesting time exploring the area. I’d highly recommend the place if you’re in this part of Thailand.

Whenever I’m in Prasat, this is where I stay. The pool is great for a swim, and the hotel cooks delicious food. There’s a 7/11, petrol station, and Amazon Cafe across the road. The caring staff are the best part, they always go out of their way to help.
