Hugpua Hotel

We were very satisfied with our stay at Hug Pua. For the price, the service and facilities were good value, whatever you call the property, motel or hotel. It has several room types and two roomy parking areas. Our family room was spacious, with a 6 ft king bed, a 4 ft small bed, a TV that only got a few Thai channels, and a small fridge. The bathroom was surprisingly large and clean, with separate wet and dry areas. Its electric water heater came in handy in winter. We were there in December, and although the chilly evenings were nice, it was a bit too cold for us when showering. There’s a Thai restaurant in front of Hug Pua that also does room service, which was handy after a long drive when we wanted privacy and a chance to relax. Behind the hotel, the large bamboo trees make a good spot for photos. We had breakfast before leaving. Most of the menu was Thai food, and breakfast was served only in the early morning. Hug Pua is on the main road to Pua and Phu Ka National Park, a popular destination in Nan province. Although it calls itself a hotel, it felt more like a motel to me, since you can get to the rooms straight from the parking lot.
