Rabbit Bungalow

The rooms are well looked after, and the location is just right. We were worried by earlier comments about noise, but even on NYE we didn’t hear any. It’s a large resort for the island, yet it’s run and organised really well. We left a beach resort to try somewhere different and wish we’d stayed here from the start. If I return to the island, this will be my first choice.

There are hammocks everywhere, and the campus is laid out beautifully for hanging out. The beds are comfortable and the staff are super friendly. The yoga studio is gorgeous, right on the lilipads by the water. The downside is that the water seems to breed mosquitoes, and mornings and nights get savage. I’d kill a few mozzies every bathroom trip, though spray should help. Live music plays next door a couple of nights a week, and you can lie in a hammock and listen without feeling pushed to buy alcohol.

We took the Thai cooking class and really enjoyed it. Everyone was so sweet and helpful, especially Lek, Por, Ma, Sek, and the whole team, who took great care of us. The place feels quiet and peaceful, like a second home. A memorable stay in an amazing, sustainable place!

I spent 10 days here and enjoyed swinging in the hammock for half the day. The bungalow is a bit primitive, but it has a private bathroom with cold water only. The grounds are beautiful, centered around a lily pond in the middle of the island, and the staff are very kind and thorough.
