Chalong Sea Breeze

My check-in at Chalong Seabreeze Hotel was really upsetting and unprofessional. I arrived at 2:00 PM, but the receptionist said there were no rooms and that I'd be taken to “another place.” I thought it meant another building belonging to the same hotel. Instead, they took me to a completely different, very shady building. The room had no proper doors or windows, and reaching it meant walking through three other rooms. It felt unsafe and wasn't what I'd booked at all. I refused to stay there and was brought back to the hotel, where they showed me another ground-floor room. That one had no windows either, was extremely dingy, and looked more like a staff or storage room than a guest room. They said it was my only option. I booked through Agoda and immediately contacted them, showing photos of the room I'd actually booked, with windows and proper ventilation. Only after Agoda got in touch with the owner did staff suddenly “find” the correct room. It was clearly vacant and available the whole time. The receptionist didn't apologize. They laughed throughout the situation, then started cussing at me in Thai when I asked why I'd been taken to multiple unsuitable rooms first. Their behavior was highly unprofessional and made me feel unsafe. I ultimately requested a cancellation and refund through Agoda, and it was granted. I don't know if this reflects the owner's standards, but the front desk staff's behavior was unacceptable and should be addressed seriously. Based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend the hotel.
