Happy Home Guesthouse Rawai

It’s right next to my house on Soi Happy Home, Rawai, Phuket Province, Thailand.

I’ve lived in this house since 2003, and now I’m facing eviction after losing a court case. I bought it from Mr. Thavisak Yuyunyong. At the time, I worked in a hotel and was legally married, but my salary wasn’t enough to get a loan for both my wife and me, so her friend co-signed. After my wife and I divorced, the district office recorded that the house, land, belongings and even the car, which was still being paid off, belonged entirely to me, her husband. I didn’t understand the law or expect any of this. Now, 18-19 years later, the house is about to be seized because my former wife’s friend took out another loan from the Government Savings Bank and hasn’t made payments. The bank traced her assets and found this house, 76/41 Happy Home. I hired a lawyer and still lost the case, even though we didn’t cause the problem. All we can do is wait for the sale to be finalized and for us to be evicted. We love this house, but can’t do anything about it. We can’t afford to buy it back. COVID-19 wiped out the money we’d saved over 48 years. We’ve spent it on lawyer fees and a court deposit of around 100,000 baht. I don’t know what comes next. My parents are very old, and we can’t afford to support them. It’s hard, but we have to endure it with what little we have. Just venting. I’m alone and can’t think straight. 🙏🙏🙏🇹🇭❤️
