Hidden Pool Villa

Think twice before booking this villa. We paid 15,500 rubles per night, and if you set aside the issues below, it would be good value for the price. We arrived at the stated 2:00 PM check-in time, but the villa was locked and nobody was there to meet us. Our messages through Trip.com chat got no reply, including after checkout. We had to find their contact details ourselves and message them via messenger, then wait for someone to come and check us in. There were extra charges that we hadn’t seen in the rental rules on Trip.com: a 7,000 THB deposit collected at check-in, and a separate electricity fee that we only learned about then. At checkout, the electricity charge was 2,470 THB. We used 41.3 kWh over four nights, but were charged for 413 kWh. I have photos of the meter readings from before check-in and after checkout. They charged 6 THB per unit shown on the meter, apparently counting each 100 watts rather than each kWh. We’ve rented many villas, and I’ve never encountered anything like this. The rules didn’t say electricity was extra. It felt deceptive, especially for guests who don’t know how electricity use is calculated. There are also CCTV cameras on the property, including one looking over the pool, even though the villa is presented as private. It made us feel constantly watched. The villa and furniture are old-fashioned, though we were prepared for that.

The house has a nice layout, was generally clean, and came with a well-equipped kitchen. It was cleaned every three days, and the pool was maintained regularly. There weren’t any loungers at first, but staff brought some right away when we asked. Depending on what you’re looking for, it could be a nice place to spend a week or two. We found the place short on coziness, with no really comfortable seating or desk to work at. The outdoor spots behind the house, around the living room, and the bathrooms needed better upkeep. The water feature and lights weren’t working and looked quite run down. The open bathrooms also let in creepy-crawlies, which is common in Asia. Noise was a real problem outside. The pool pump, water pump, and air conditioners were all very loud, making it almost impossible to relax. The fridge was faulty too: the freezer section got cold, but didn’t actually freeze. At the end, we were charged over 5,000 THB for electricity over 12 days, despite barely using the air conditioning, keeping lights to a minimum, and hardly using the kitchen. The rate was 6 THB per kWh, which seemed very high to us.

The villa was beautiful and kept in meticulous shape. Housekeeping, towel changes, and cleaning of the garden and pool were all impeccable. Staff were available whenever we needed something. Congratulations to everyone looking after guests here. I highly recommend it for a holiday that goes beyond expectations.
