Viola Pool Villa

I spent two lovely weeks here, thanks to the owners, who were kind and helpful. The villa is beautiful and quiet, with amenities nearby, and it's possible to run errands on foot. Housekeeping came every two days, the sheets were changed every four days, and mosquito repellent was provided. Whenever we had even a small problem, the owners were immediately available and found a solution. They even dealt with our lost suitcase at the airport, and it was waiting for us at the villa three days later. I highly recommend the place.

The villa itself was spacious and in great shape. The kitchen had everything we needed, the pool was clean, everything worked, and cleaning was done daily. It’s close to shops and cafes, though getting to the beach means taking a car since the walk is long in the heat. The air conditioners were a bit loud. The bill for electricity really changed how I felt about the stay. It’s charged separately at 6 baht per kW, so check that when you book. We only ran the air conditioning while at the villa, mostly at night, and turned it off in the morning. We didn’t use the empty first floor, though the refrigerator kept running. The pool’s purification system has a very powerful compressor, and there’s also a leak in the water supply. The pump station built up pressure about every five minutes, adding to the cost. After seeing the first night’s usage, we turned off the purification system on day two. Electricity still cost us 1,700 baht for five nights. We figured the rental plus power came to more than a similar place nearby would have cost. Last year, we stayed 200 meters down the street, where electricity was covered by the rent within the acceptable limits, even with a pool. Otherwise, everything was fine.
