B2 Map Ta Phut Boutique & Budget Hotel

We checked out about 10 minutes after arriving and booked another hotel. The polite, helpful receptionist offered to move us to another room, but we just wanted to get out. The room wasn't refunded, and I accept that, though a kind gesture from management would have been nice given how quickly we left. I feel sorry for the nice employees who have to work there. The air conditioner smelled strongly of an ashtray, as if previous guests had smoked with it on. The walls were filthy with black fingerprints, hand marks, and other spots. Furniture under the fridge was badly worn and damaged, and the bathroom, especially the toilet, was mostly dirty. The balcony looked straight onto a huge trash pile from a warehouse across the way. It seemed to have been renovated recently, but was already very worn. We don't need luxury, but the standards need to improve. We couldn't stay there.

It's not easy to find, but the value for a business trip is very good. The place was clean and comfortable, with cold air conditioning and surprisingly strong water pressure. The staff were helpful and polite.

The hotel sits in an industrial park beside a factory, with nothing around except the sound of forklifts. It felt like a strange, scary location, and the staff were unfriendly. I called Agoda because the front desk manager was so rude. When I asked for a tax receipt, he told me to call Agoda. I explained that it showed the VAT paid from me to the hotel, but he said it wasn't his problem and that I should call corporate if I didn't like it. Agoda asked to speak with him, and he refused. Agoda then had to call the B2 head office to reach the manager.

I've traveled a lot around Thailand and stayed in plenty of places, but I always like coming back here when I'm near Rayong or Chonburi. It's clean, open and spacious, with lots of parking, fresh air, and very friendly staff. I even search for B2 hostel in other cities on Google too 😂🌲🌲
