Banchaitalay Room

We paid for the most expensive room with a sea view, but were given a river view room instead. Agoda’s voucher showed what we had booked, yet after a long phone call with a manager who wasn’t nearby, the response was that we could cancel and book directly with the hotel. In the end, we paid another 200 THB to switch to a sea view room on the ground floor, where traffic noise was very loud. The listing on Agoda and Google says there’s a restaurant and cooking facilities. There’s no restaurant, and although the room has a kitchen, it has no cooking equipment. Cooking is apparently subject to a 500 THB fine. Service at reception was very poor. At arrival, Pai took a 200 THB key deposit. When we checked out on Saturday at 8:15 am, no one was at the desk. The phone number there led to someone asking for my bank details to return the deposit. After a long, pointless exchange, we told them to keep the money and left the key on the desk. Why should I give them my bank number when I don’t have a Thai bank account?
