Banyan Resort At Rayong

The rooms were pleasant, but the shared areas need looking after. The first two bungalows you see when driving in were a mess, as the pictures show. We asked for towels and waited an hour. The beach and the road along it were covered in plastic and litter as far as you could see. I won't be going back.

We originally booked just one night, then extended. Our first night was in a small bungalow and the next in a larger one, and both were fantastic. We've already booked again for a couple of weeks from now, and I can see this becoming a regular weekend retreat. The rooms are spacious and very well appointed, with a comfortable bed and just-right pillows. Whoever handled the finishing touches did a perfect job. Reception staff were very helpful, too. Being right across the road from the beach and within walking distance of 7/11 made the location great.

The beach is just across the road, with lots of food choices there, though keep in mind they don't provide beach towels. This is a budget resort with no real facilities. The rooms are small but comfortably acceptable, and all have air-conditioning, although it's quite noisy. The water pressure is good, so the showers are good. The doors are badly installed, with gaps that let air in or out and could let insects and other bugs inside.

A nice bungalow for a romantic getaway that doesn't cost too much. The beach is the best thing about the location. It's a pleasant stay, though it won't blow you away, and better than the typical super-cheap amenity bungalow we're used to. There's a glass sliding door, a large bathroom, free coffee, and a fridge.
