Elsie Evans Art Retreat

A peaceful property with flowering trees all around and a pretty swimming pool. There are a few very active dogs, though they didn't bother me much. Elsie cooks really well, so the meals are delicious. It's a lovely place to reset and recharge, or spend time developing your artistic side. Elsie is a great teacher, with one class a day, and you're welcome to use her studio and its wide range of art supplies whenever you like.

We loved our two nights at Elsie's art retreat. Elsie was such a warm, kind, and friendly host, and made sure we were comfortable and had plenty to eat. The rooms were clean, tidy, and comfortable. The kids had art lessons, friendly dogs to play with, and the pool to swim in.

Elsie has a real gift for hosting and is an inspiring artist in her studio. In that safe space, she makes room for creativity, personal growth, and storytelling. Her home feels wonderfully authentic. I've had many lovely, inspiring sessions with Elsie in Bangkok, as well as time at her glorious retreat home.

I've stayed twice now, once with a friend and once on my own, and both times I had a lovely time. Elsie welcomed me wholeheartedly into her home, which was designed as an art retreat with creatives in mind. It's a little arty paradise, with a gorgeous garden and a lovely pool. As someone living in Bangkok, I love having a refreshing weekend escape in driving distance, where I can relax in nature and make art too. Elsie takes time to ask what you'd like to do. I like painting in her studio, but if you want, she'll take you to draw on a beach and watch the sunset, or on other trips to paint en plein air. There's no pressure to do more than you feel like doing. She's the art teacher I always wished I'd had. She believes you'll get things right and won't let you give up. She's honest, and so talented and skilled across many areas that she can guide you in whatever you want to improve. The food is really good too, and there's an excellent Thai massage option in the house.
