Kantary Bay Hotel and Serviced Apartments Rayong

We spent a month in a studio last November and December. It was spacious and clean, with a kitchenette and a large fridge, and the staff were excellent at sorting out whatever we needed. They even arranged a driver for day trips to the places we wanted to visit. The breakfast buffet had a great range of food. The hotel is on the beach, with several restaurants along the seafront. Our favourite was Cafe Kantary by the Sea, part of the hotel. Two 7Eleven stores are a couple of minutes away on foot, and the Mangrove Forest is about five minutes away. We saw lots of animals and birds there. Brilliant place, and we hope to return.

The building is old, but the facilities are well maintained. Day users basically can’t get a sea view room, since those are apartments for rent. For a sea view, the one-bedroom suite is the best choice. Breakfast is included, with a wide selection and plenty of food. It’s generally standard, but there’s no coupon or wait to be seated.

The hotel is across the road from the beach and has good views, but our East wing room was very old. Water pressure and drainage were major problems, and the tiny balcony wasn’t comfortable to use. Breakfast was okay, unless a large group is there, when it turns into a zoo. The pool was closed for maintenance.

The building is old, but the rooms have been renovated and are spacious. I especially like the shampoo and shower gel, with their lovely white tea and ginger scent. Being right by the sea, with Cafe Kantary nearby and a convenience store close too, makes the stay relaxing. I’d come back.
