The river beach and WiFi were great, but the rest of the stay fell short. The restaurant menu was very limited, and we felt they weren't prepared for our booking, so we left three nights early. The resort is very isolated, and without a car you're stranded. There were very few staff members who could communicate in English, and in my opinion the villa was overpriced with a lot of room for improvement. The rooms didn't really lock and had no safe, and there was no housekeeping. Even small things like closing doors, a bedside table and lamp, and sugar with the tea and coffee supplies would have helped.

Mookata for dinner was fresh, full of flavor, and served in a generous portion. In the morning, we woke to river views through the poolside blinds, then had a simple, satisfying breakfast with American-style options, fried eggs, and croissants. We stayed in the Pool Villa at 19 Degrees Kanchanaburi Resort. It was clean and cozy, with comfortable beds, a modern bathroom, and heaters, and I loved relaxing in the hammock. The staff were attentive and friendly, and the owners shared useful local tips and talked about plans for tours and activities. The pygmy goats on site were a fun extra. A relaxing place in Kanchanaburi, with comfort, nature, and warm service.
