The staff were cheerful and really helpful with reasonable extra requests. They even kept our valuables after checkout so we could head out without dragging our bags around before going to the airport. There are also free little lockers in the lounge, about 30 by 30 cm, if you bring your own lock. The rooms have safes, mini fridges with water, and air conditioning without an extra charge. For a three-star place, that’s a lovely deal. I’m sold on the air con alone.

There’s no elevator, but luggage can be stored on the first floor at any hour. The hotel itself is quiet, well located, and the room was very clean with a nice view and strong air conditioning. A monastery across the road has chickens and roosters. You can hear them, mostly in the morning, and it’s quite charming in the middle of the city.

The location was the best part, with plenty of interesting people passing by. That alone made the trip worthwhile. Prices are on the high side, though that’s understandable for a tourist area. The food was just okay. The chicken in my fish was badly overcooked and tough, while the rest was edible. I’d have liked some cashews in my pineapple rice next time.

We’d happily stay and eat here again. The staff are so welcoming, the food is amazing, and the location is perfect. The Thai food is really good and reasonably priced too!
