Heaven Kwai Resort (SHA Extra Plus)

The price felt far too high for what we got, and I left feeling that staying here was not worth it. I visited during a major holiday with my family, and the resort seemed short on both staff and things to do. There were some serious problems in the room. The fridge and TV were broken, and the sockets were loose, which made using electronics difficult. The sofa seemed unfinished, more like a piece of wood than a proper sofa. There was dust on the floor, suggesting the room had not been cleaned well, and the lack of light bulbs made it gloomy. The water heater worked, but the water pressure was weak. The lights also went out for almost an hour during our stay. I highly don't recommend this resort.

The room and meals in the package were a letdown. We found someone else’s pubic hair on the blanket, hair on the bedsheet, a dirty floor, black mold patches on the wall, a dusty air conditioner, and mosquitoes and flies in the room. We cleaned what we could ourselves and put up with it for one night because we were exhausted. Three meals included in the paid package had a fly infestation, as shown in the attached photo. Two of the three of us had diarrhea the next morning after eating the meals from the day before. We asked twice for basic medicine. The first staff member refused, saying they had none. With no transport in the middle of nowhere, we had to insist on whatever local remedies they could offer just to get by. We had booked a river rafting holiday, but the sales guy sold us a room with activities and didn't provide everything specified. Once we arrived, we were told our rafting was cancelled because there weren't enough guests for a ride. The sales guy knew in advance and didn't tell us. At first, they said we could pay an extra THB 500 each or stay another night and raft the next day. We refused and explained that we'd flown in from abroad and had few days to spend. Then came an apology and a different explanation, that it was the boat driver's day off. From other past reviews, it seems ours wasn't the only group affected. The staff seemed nice, but seemed trained to give misleading excuses. We later found out some workers live with their families in the resort area. I honestly wouldn't give this place even one star based on my experience. I'm sharing some photos for your information. Choose wisely 😂

The afternoon and evening set menu tasted very good, but the service was poor. Breakfast's Thai buffet was a real letdown. Compared with its affiliated Lake Heaven resorts, this place felt like a downgrade at the same price. I understand the accommodation is old, but yellowed towels shouldn't be reused. I wouldn't want one touching my face. At night, I could hear a rat running around outside the bedroom, and we could barely sleep.

It’s a great place for adults and little kids. If you can go during the week, it’s less crowded.
