Tai resort

I liked the room and its cozy wooden decor, which sits between northern style and modern. The room smells nice, and the water pressure is very good. There’s parking inside the resort and across the road too.

The resort is peaceful, with lovely rooms, soft beds, a pretty pool, and friendly, accommodating staff. Ning, the owner, is kind and lovely. The property is beautifully landscaped, with a pond and walking garden, and it has recently been renovated. The farm-to-table restaurant serves breakfast and lunch, and the included breakfast was delicious. You can choose American breakfast, northern-style fried rice, or congee. It’s in San Pa Tong near Chiang Mai, so a rental car is useful, or it’s a good spot to get away from the city’s bustle. There’s a real sense of nature and tranquility throughout. Highly recommend.

We were all happy with our stay, and I was glad we chose Tai Resort after looking around at less expensive hotels nearby. I stayed there with family and relatives for four days during the first week of May 2024. It’s a small, fairly new hotel, probably around 15 rooms. The rooms are nicely decorated, the garden is well cared for, and even in the intense summer heat the plants looked fresh. Breakfast was good, and the staff were attentive and ready to help. I didn’t post photos, though others in our group took plenty. During our visit, what we saw matched the hotel website photos quite closely, including the food. In Thai, we call that “as advertised”. I didn’t give the location a full score because tourists may not find many activities in Sanpatong (San Pa Tong), though it’s not too far from the city or Doi Intanon. There are still lots of things to do in the area.

Though it’s tucked away from the main tourist spots, this is a lovely place to rest or take a break from the city. Tai Resort Sanpatong feels homey and close to nature. Since the renovation, the rooms are wonderful and the restaurant is amazing. Locals eat there too, and the menu ranges from Thai to Western food. I enjoyed it more than eating at the Marriott at Hua Hin. I’d tell everyone to give this place a try.
