Mae Faek Villas

The room was a decent size and the price was good, but I won't stay here again. I was there for 5 nights and 6 days, and housekeeping only came once after I asked. They didn't change the bedding, even then. I checked in at 2:00, but my room wasn't ready. When I asked about another room, the lady said it would cost an extra 100 bhat/night because I'd booked through Agoda.com. She said they assign only a handful of rooms to Agoda.com.

The bungalow was huge, spotless, and I could park right beside it. One booking note: don't use Agoda if you expect the cash back deal. Agoda cheats its users!

The villas are excellent, and for the price, a brand new one is pretty damn cheap. Coffee and breakfast were good each morning. The owners don't speak much English, but Google Translate got us through it. Chiang Mai is about a 40 minute motorcycle ride away, and there's not a lot nearby. We did find some nice local restaurants, including an all you can eat, cook for yourself place that wasn't on Google Maps. The ride into the city wasn't too bad, so I'd stay again.

The place is very new, and some things like the swimming pool aren't ready yet. They made up for it by arranging discounted access to an affiliate's pool. The staff were friendly and helpful, and did their best to accommodate us.
