InterContinental Bangkok Sukhumvit by IHG

The Club Intercontinental was a real highlight of our four-night stay over Chinese New Year. Our booking included lounge access through the IHG annual lounge pass, and Khun Pair welcomed us warmly. Khun Fit, Khun Tea, and the rest of the club team gave us a first-class experience, especially with the high tea and evening drinks. We also found the hotel sleek and elegant, with rooms that carried the design through nicely. It’s a newish property in a handy spot for the BTS, and everyone we dealt with from check-in to checkout was warm, friendly, and professional. As an IHG Diamond Ambassador member, I enjoyed the stay tremendously and look forward to returning in June.

The good parts won out, and I’d probably stay again. The hotel is quite new, so everything feels fresh and well kept. In Thong Lor, it’s about a five-minute walk to the BTS, with a 7-11 along the way. The room was a good size, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom well equipped with a shower that worked well. The small rooftop pool doesn’t get much sun, but it’s still a pleasant place to cool off. It would be nice to have drinks and snacks available up there. My check-in was frustrating. I expected priority service as an IHG Diamond Member, but I was told to sit in the lobby and then forgotten for 15 minutes. At checkout, my card was charged incorrectly, so they had to split it into two charges. That was minor, though it took more time. The bellhops also pushed their airport transport, saying it was at good rates, and strongly discouraged me from using Grab. It felt like they were earning commission, which didn’t seem very premium. Most staff were friendly and welcoming despite these issues.

The location in Thonglor made getting to the BTS easy, and there are plenty of good restaurants and cafés nearby. I found the service just as strong: the staff were warm, professional, and attentive throughout, which made the stay feel personal and welcoming. My room was spacious and comfortable, with excellent bedding, amenities, and attention to detail. The hotel’s modern, elegant design was lovely, too. From arrival to departure, it felt like the high standard I’d expect from the InterContinental brand. A superb stay, and I hope to return soon. Thanks to the whole team for making it memorable.

The pool area wasn’t really suitable for sunbathing, but the rest of our stay was lovely. Win, Tun, Tao, and the breakfast staff Maneger were especially attentive and took great care of us. Everyone was impressive, and the stay was memorable. We had a great time and would recommend it 🤍🙏🏻
