Tree Space Chiang Mai Resort

The room was clean and tidy, and the place worked well enough for our trip since we only needed somewhere to sleep while sightseeing around Chiang-Mai. The breakfast was just instant jok and instant coffee, so that was adequate too. One funny thing, a chicken was roosting at our door and seemed annoyed whenever we came back.

At 500 baht a night, about 17 USD, just outside Chiang Mai, this was excellent value for me. The room was modern, clean, spacious, and had fast free WiFi, cold air conditioning, bottled water, a coffee and tea maker, a fridge, and daily room service. The bathroom looked a bit worn or dirty, but it was much nicer than other places I’ve stayed at the same price in Chiang Mai or Bangkok. Staff were friendly and helpful, though they advertised Visa and said it was broken. There was also a refundable 300 baht key deposit, and the key works as the electricity card when you enter. It’s easy to walk to a 7-11, food vendors, gas, ATMs, and cheap blue buses between Chiang Mai and Lamphun. There’s a cafe right outside, plus a woman who sells made-to-order food for 30 baht from 4-7 pm. It’s incredible. I’d suggest using a VPN with the WiFi. One small downside is the location off the main road between Lamphun and Chiang Mai, with a bar across the street. Music and traffic make it noisy until around midnight. I’m a solo night owl, so it didn’t bother me. There are more deluxe rooms farther back that might be quieter, though I doubt it. I don’t blame the hotel for the noise. Not perfect, but close, and a great deal.

The rooms are okay, service is standard, and the facilities are just fair. But I’m puzzled about why there was no water at night?!!!
