Baan Hinwong

We’re mature independent backpackers traveling by train. Google Maps didn’t show the new pedestrian bridge over the main roads, which makes the hotel very accessible on foot from the train station. We paid 700 baht for a deluxe double room. It was extra large and very clean, with a microwave, electric kettle, crockery, cutlery, and a lounge where you can sit and watch TV. The manager was friendly and helpful.

We stayed three nights from January 21 2020 and got a great rate. It was peaceful everywhere, with a lovely room, excellent amenities, and a hotel that feels new and is immaculately clean. The rooms are non smoking, though you can smoke on your own balcony. There’s a great little restaurant about 30 metres away, and a little further toward the main road is a friendly Thai shop with everything you might need. Within 500 metres there’s also a Thai cafe and a family mart 24. The nearby short beach is clean, excellent, and mostly deserted. A wonderful, peaceful break all round. It’s one of the nicest places I’ve stayed in Asia.

The room smelled strongly of drainage, and there was a bunch of used towels in the bathroom when we checked in. The receptionist wasn’t friendly either. Nice place, but I would never come back.

We arrived after 11pm and were still given a wonderful welcome by the very welcoming owners and staff. The value is incredible, and everything was absolutely clean. The bed was fabulous, and the room had a fridge, microwave, kettle, sink, and little balcony. There’s even a pool to cool off in. A good place to stay if you’re planning bike rides leading up to and in Siri charoenrat forest.
