Baan Kasirin Resort 2 Koh Lipe

We spent a month at Baan Kasirin 2 and were really happy there. The room was basic and comfortable, and the price was very low. There’s a shared kitchen and free hot and cold drinking water, plus air conditioning and a fan in the room. Electricity is charged separately. We’d definitely stay again if we return to Lipe.

We left after just an hour. Both rooms we tried had visible bedbugs, and we ended up with bites. The hotel refused to process a refund because they said they hadn’t seen any bugs and that the rooms were perfectly clean, which was nowhere near what we experienced. The room was tiny and dirty, and the toilet smelled bad and only had cold water. A terrible stay. I’m never coming back, even for free.

The shop at the front looks inviting, but the rooms leave a lot to be desired. We booked a fan room, then paid another 400 Bht for air conditioning because it was too hot to sleep. The window was broken, so we couldn’t get fresh air, and there was a huge hole in the cupboard. There wasn’t a flushing toilet either, something the booking page should mention. They’ve clearly tried to improve things after earlier bad reviews, and the garden looks nice, but the money should have gone toward the room interior.

We changed rooms three times and still had cockroaches. There were at least 40 in our room, especially in the toilet, which also smelled awful. Lots of things weren’t working, and the place felt unattended. No one seemed ready to help at the service counter, so we were left on our own. It felt dangerous when we went out too, since nobody was keeping an eye out for thieves or other trouble. Definitely not worth the price. For that money, I could rent a fairly high-class condo.
