Bundhaya Resort Koh Lipe

The biggest problem for us was the beach space. There are only three pairs of sunbeds and a shower, and the area doubles as a waiting spot for arriving and departing guests, so it doesn't feel peaceful. Staff also often relax nearby, and sometimes sleep in hammocks tied to the trees. That's why we probably won't return. The beach itself is beautiful and the water is calm. We enjoyed our stay at Budhaya Resort, and the price matched the quality we expected. The Superior Villa felt too small for two, so we upgraded to a larger, lovely villa with an outdoor shower.

The resort is an easy walk from the walking street, and they can serve halal breakfast options. Just ask the receptionist which items are halal. I'd definitely recommend it to couples looking for a relaxing stay.

The room was tiny, and the bathroom badly needs renovation. The location is good, but little else felt worth the time or money. I stayed here in April 2025 and again in April 2026, and the two visits were completely different. In 2025 the staff were warm, polite, and helpful. This time they were rude and disappointing. The middle-aged woman with glasses at reception was hostile and unwilling to help. We were also charged an extra 300 THB for checking out 20 minutes late, even though our room was only a five-minute walk from reception. One restaurant worker took my bracelets after I left them on a table. I know it was my fault for forgetting them, but the waiter wore them the next day and then claimed they hadn't found any bracelets.

There was some trouble with our room's AC, but the staff dealt with it properly. A cat stayed with us the whole time, by her own insistence, and we miss her. We called her Strawberry. The resort is large, right on the beach by the main pier. Breakfast had a good range, and we didn't feel anything was missing. The staff also made my wife's birthday dinner special one evening, thank you for that. Ko Lipe is a great island, with kind people and a good system. I can recommend it.
