The owner made this stay feel so personal. She brought me breakfast, showed me her fruit and vegetable garden, and took me around Sukhothai airport and to her favorite noodle place. I loved the house too, with its vintage, home-like style. I’d seen the low score here, though Booking looked good, so I took a chance. It turned out to be amazing and well beyond what I expected.
At 11pm, after I’d already been locked out for an hour, the owner finally answered and told me I’d have to wait until he and the other guest finished watching the fireworks before he came back. I’ve never stayed anywhere I couldn’t get into until 1 in the morning. I wish Google allowed zero stars, and I hope nobody else stays here. I was visiting for the local festival of light. The owner drove us there by taxi and said he’d pick us up at 12:00. I started feeling unwell around 9:00 and called six times asking him to come back sooner, but he wouldn’t pick up. Eventually I found a tuk tuk for the 30 minute ride back. The place was completely locked when I arrived, so I knocked on the windows and kept calling.
Staying here felt like being with a relative or someone I know. So lovely. 😊
