This place is good value for money, about a 12-minute drive from Khao Kheow open zoo. The owner was very nice and helpful, and spoke English well. He cooked breakfast for us, drove us to the zoo, picked us up afterward, and took us to the van station the next day when we left for Bangkok.

The place was great when we arrived and pitched our tent. I really liked it. But at 8 in the morning, a motorcycle woke us up beside the tent. A worker had come to collect payment. I was angry and asked why he had to wake us, or my girlfriend, so early. He looked confused and said he could see that we weren’t sleeping. How could he tell? That’s the question. The whole approach was terrible. Why spoil the morning like that? Couldn’t they wait until 10, or let us pay on our own?

The rooms were roomy, clean, and pleasant, with air conditioning, and the place was very quiet. Mai and the other staff were helpful, including giving us rides to the beach and airport.
