The staff were professional and helpful, and the room-to-room soundproofing seemed better than at many Thai hotels. I also liked the big, comfortable bed, the good hot water and decent pressure, and the Wi-Fi that stayed connected. The rooms are spacious, very clean, and get lots of daylight with the curtains open. Their large balconies are lovely for sitting out in the evening breeze. There’s a restaurant next door with live music until midnight on many nights. During my four-night stay it was mellow acoustic music, and I enjoyed hearing it at night. Getting around on foot worked for me, though a car, motorbike, or rideshare could be useful. Samila beach and Old Town are each a 15-20 minute walk away. One of Songkhla’s main bar streets is just a block away, with food and drinks for locals and foreigners. It’s more walkable than many southern towns, but the daytime heat in Songkhla can be intense. The hotel shuttle runs from morning until late afternoon or early evening. I’d stay here again if I return to Songkhla.

The rooms are beautiful, airy, and spacious, with balconies, good views, comfortable beds, and nice architecture. The front desk staff were very friendly and spoke enough English. It’s also close to the beach and a commercial street aimed at tourists. The shared spaces let the place down. There are plastic plants everywhere, clutter, and very few common areas. The hallways have outdated notices, snack displays, and cleaning and maintenance items. The area under the breakfast space and the parking area both look like shantytowns. Such a shame when the rooms are so good. Management needs to wake up or be replaced.

There are bars and restaurants nearby, and it’s about a 20-minute walk to either the beach or old town, so the location worked well for me. The hotel was spotless, with a large room and a huge bed with a great mattress. There’s even a hob and oven in the room.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and breakfast was included. The rooms were great, especially the TV, which let me sign into my Netflix and YouTube accounts instead of being limited to local channels. Extra points for that.

I tried to book by email, but the hotel was very slow to reply and never gave me clear confirmation before my stay. I called and was told rooms were available, then checked on LINE and was told there would be a room the next day. But the night before I was due to stay, they finally answered an email I’d sent two days earlier to say they were fully booked. The mixed messages made the booking stressful and disappointing.
