Blue House Sukhothai

A comfy, clean guest house in New Sukhothai, near restaurants, stores, markets, and other places. They also have free coffee and cookies in the morning.

For 1000 THB, it’s about what you’d expect from a basic guest house. The beds are comfortable, and the location is quiet, close to 7-11, bars, and cafes in central Sukothai. It’s clean and feels safe, but breakfast is simple, just coffee and toast. The Historical park is 13 km away.

A couple of restaurants and a 7-Eleven are only about a two-minute walk away, which is handy. Getting here was a little confusing the first time, so pay attention. I loved staying at this cute guesthouse. The room was large, clean, and nice, and they brought water every day. The bathroom was nice too. For the price, it’s astonishingly good. The bed is definitely hard, so be ready for that, but I’d still recommend the place.

The woman who checked us in was a sweetheart, and it’s nice to support a family-owned business. The place felt secure and quiet at night. They offer complimentary morning coffee and made-to-order breakfast. We got a large ground-floor room facing a little garden. It was clean, with a comfortable bed, very cold ACU, a huge bathroom, good water pressure, and a hot and cold shower. There was also a fridge and daily bottled water. Outside the grounds and inside were both spotless. You take off your shoes at the door and change into house slippers. We passed a local market on the way in, and there’s a 7Eleven, lots of night street vendors, and restaurants a few meters away. We rented a motorcyle from them and got a flat on the way back from Si Satchanalai. Thankfully my husband felt it and slowed down, so we didn’t have an accident. The tire was very old and torn. They picked us up and talked to locals about replacing it. Things got tense when the owner (Mom) called and demanded that we pay for the replacement. We argued over the phone, and the language barrier made it hard to sort out. We refused to pay, and they dropped it. If you rent motorcycles, check the tires and take photos before setting off.
