Boomerang Village Resort Kata

The pool is on the small side, but it was clean, and check-in and check-out were easy. Breakfast surprised us in a good way, especially the salmon avocado toast and French toast. We loved this secluded little bungalow place surrounded by nature. Our superior room was spacious and clean, right by the pool, but we had no noise trouble since most guests seemed to be couples. The staff were SO friendly, and I’d come back for them alone. They were also happy to arrange a later check-out to fit our flight. Getting there on foot can be hard because it’s uphill, though Phuket didn’t feel very walkable to us anyway, so we took cabs everywhere and back. Seems ideal for couples who want nearby beaches and time at the hotel and pool.

The staff were warm and friendly, always around if we needed anything, and the owners made a real effort to help us have a good stay. They could also help arrange trips to the islands around Phuket. This was our first visit to Thailand, and after two weeks here, the place met our needs and expectations. The rooms were spacious and had a private bathroom, fridge, toilet and small terrace. They were cleaned daily, with the bed linen and towels changed.

Getting to the resort takes some effort: it’s at the top of a hill, with a very steep final 50 metres of road, so you’ll need strong legs or a scooter or taxi. The rooms are little mountain cottages spread over different levels, and reaching the ones higher up means more uphill walking. There are rooms by the pool too. We had one of the upper rooms, and the view over Kata was amazing, but keep those steps in mind. The place is quiet and surrounded by nature, away from the main roads and traffic. Staff were friendly, always smiling and happy to give tips. Breakfast was very good, and the bar made Italian-style coffee. The main area of Kata beach is a 15-20 minute walk, or 5 minutes by scooter.

Beautiful rooms, and we really enjoyed our stay. It’s a bit of a walk and there’s a bit of a hill, but we’d go back again 😊
