It’s a sweet, simple family-run place with just five bungalow rooms set around a small leafy courtyard. The price feels right, and there’s a nice relaxed vibe. You can hire a motorbike for 250 baht a day or a bicycle for 100. It’s about 10-15 minutes by car to the old city temples, or 35-40 minutes by bike, while the bus terminal is only five minutes away, handy for an early departure. They can arrange taxis to the bus terminal, train station, airport, or for a city tour. I didn’t see any cockroaches or insects in my room at KTT. Please don’t expect Asia to be insect-free, even five-star resorts have them.

I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The owner was rude and often didn’t answer the phone, and the room was cramped with a very dirty bathroom. There were bugs all over, cockroaches included. We hired a motorbike that broke down within 15 minutes. The bikes they provide seem partly broken, and we were charged 2,000 baht. It felt like an obvious scam. My girlfriend and I have travelled all over Thailand without this kind of problem before, and we definitely won’t come back.

There was barely any management. The staff didn’t speak English, and the owner, who does, was nowhere to be seen. His very elderly mother lives on the guesthouse grounds, so there was no way to communicate.
