It felt like staying at a friend’s home, with friendly staff and about eight guest rooms in the house. The room was spacious, clean, a little old, and had air con and a warm shower. There’s a pool, only enough parking for two cars, and a lovely view from the semi-outdoor rooftop breakfast area. The owner may be European, I think, and speaks English; there are Thai staff too. The house is in a narrow alley in a residential area, dark at night and hot during the day, so you’ll need a car or a ride. I personally wouldn’t walk there either in the day or at night. There was a lot of PM 2.5 in the air on our visit, an uncontrolled nationwide situation, but the place would be very nice in good weather without PM 2.5.

The location is good, though the homestay is down a narrow alley. We were the only guests. The room was old but spacious, which is what you might expect from a cheap hotel. The service was absolutely negative, and I seriously don’t recommend staying here. I’ve usually found Thailand’s service industry mature, with good attitudes and fairly honest people, but this boss showed me another side. I told her when I arrived that I needed a room for two people and two toy poodles. She spoke good English, quoted 700 baht and asked whether we wanted a king-size bed or twin beds. I said either was fine; she pointed out a room that would take half an hour to clean, so we went to eat. When we returned with our dog and luggage, she said, “Ah, I thought you were alone.” I didn’t want it to spoil my trip and we were only staying one night, so I agreed to pay an extra 100 baht. That was the first time I felt uneasy. Later, when I went upstairs to ask about Wi-Fi, she told me to come upstairs instead of coming down. I treated it as exercise, but then found there was no signal in the room and the toilet smelled really bad. I went to the third floor and asked if we could move to the opposite room. She wanted more money, which I refused, and said it was normal for a cheap hotel to smell. She also said the other room wasn’t cleaned and hoped I’d be okay with that. It was ridiculous, but there are so few pet-friendly places in Sukhothai and I’d already paid, so I put up with it for one night. About pets, she said she has a cat, so my dog should not leave the room.

The rooms are large and open, with little lizards inside that help protect you from mosquitos. The host was lovely and spoke many languages, including German, English, Dutch and French, as he’s from Belgium. Breakfast was great, and we enjoyed the pool and terraces. He owns cats and handles most of the hotel work himself. We definitely enjoyed our stay and would recommend it in Sukhothai.

It was a calm hotel with a great pool and delicious breakfast. The rooms were clean and spacious, with comfortable beds, and the staff were really nice. The owner was lovely and drove us to the historical park, then picked us up later. I can only recommend staying here.

The rooms were roomy, and we really enjoyed the pool. We stayed here for a visit to Sukhothai historical village, with other places to eat close by. Breakfast was good too, with lots to choose from.
