Hop Inn Surat Thani (SHA Extra Plus)

I've stayed at Hop Inn in quite a few provinces, and this Surat Thani branch stood out for its service. The staff were especially polite and attentive. Breakfast surprised me most, it was much better than I expected and delicious too. I'm very impressed, and if I come back to Surat Thani, this will be my first choice.

The staff at the Surat Thani branch gave me great tips on local food and places to visit, and helped me have a really good experience. The room was clean and felt safe, with the standard setup you'd expect at a budget hotel. Having your own car makes the location convenient. I enjoyed my stay.

The breakfast was simple Thai food and perfectly acceptable, though it may not suit what a farung is used to. The room had a small fridge, but no coffee maker, iron, or other extras. It was very clean, and the elevator was a big help with my knees. Best of all, the bed was genuinely soft, which is unusual in Thai hotels. Getting there meant taking a tiny road off a main road, pretty normal for Thailand, though the spot isn't great for backpackers. The decor was basic, and the corridors and rooms had a dormitory feel. My January 2023 check-in was unusually structured and involved more ID checks than I'm used to at Thai hotels, but it went smoothly. Everything else worked well, and the staff deserve credit. A good, reasonably priced basic hotel. I'd recommend it.

There's free breakfast, and Central Festival Surat Thani Department Store is nearby. A reasonably priced place to get some rest during a business trip.
